Opera - a scenic vocal and instrumental musical work in which the music interacts with the action
dramatic (libretto). The essence of this musical genre is a synthesis of the arts, i.e. a combination of words, music,
visual arts, movement, gesture and acting. Like ballet, it has its origins in the Italian Renaissance
carnival masquerades, which have developed into dramatic spectacles.
